Astar Traffic have been providing Traffic and Pedestrian Management for Parade Civil Engineering, who have been constructing the new cycle lanes on Sun Street and A4124 Wednesfield Road. This all part of the Wolverhampton active fund (www.activeblackcountry.co.uk).
This has been an ongoing project for many months, but this week saw Parade Civil Engineering (www.paradecivil.co.uk) together with Bredon Group (www.bredongroup.com) lay the new Blue cycle route asphalt.
The Cycle lanes are being created to give a continuous cycle route along the A4124 Wednesfield road from the Culwell street junction to link up with existing provisions at Wednesfield Way
These cycle lanes will improve the safety of cyclists and other vehicles on the road, improve connectivity for destinations for cyclists and encourage more people to cycle more for journeys in place of a car thus improve air quality and helping our environment.
Not much longer until the works will all be completed and full pedestrian & bike access will be reinstated.
